Craving "Ca Nuong" and wanted try a different spot than our usual which is Favori. Ca Nuong WAS AMAZING! SKIN was crispy and flavorful (less oily than Favori's). Owner Hien says theirs is baked 100%. Omg two of us finished the entire fish. Great ambiance, large tables a plus a HUGE screen TV!

Food was delicious, came here from a recommendation. The baked fish came out within 15 mins, and appetizers were quick! The ambiance was cool with huge projectors and good songs. Clean environment overall. Ngoc Thy provided amazing service and was super kind to us. Constantly refilled water, rice paper, and sauces. Would definitely come back!

BAKED CATFISH ONLY REVIEW!! Disclaimer: If you are ordering the catfish at the restaurant, be prepared to wait. I always get this to-go cause it takes a long time to cook to perfection. If you are not waiting a while, it won't be good (reheated). My parents really love baked catfish (ca nuong gion), so when my dad had seen an ad on FB, my mom suggested we get some here for her birthday dinner. I scheduled a 1630 pick up and received our food 10 mins after. They were very thoughtful about the packaging and were very concerned about our fish being crispy/crispy enough, for the journey home. I was very impressed by the caliber of the meal after bringing it home. The fish was so tasty! The fish included a generous amount of fried shallots, peanuts, and the white meat of the catfish was cooked so nicely (definitely not reheated) with decently crispy skin. It also came with what looks like taro pomme frittes (thinly sliced Taro fries) for another amazing layer of texture. I'm literally in texture heaven at this point (I love crunchy foods). I really try making the perfect bite each time to make there's enough of everything for each bite and this place made it very easy. ------.. lots of accompaniments! The accompaniments included serval sauces. I really do like the tamarind fish sauce but they had a pineapple fish sauce that I absolutely loved. There was plenty of veggies to go around and the rice paper it came with was a decent size (larger than the one at Favori). The price of the fish was very decent and they come in a small or large size. It does not include vermicelli noodles (bún [which is 3$ more]) If you do decide to eat in the restaurant, there are ample seatings and booths great for a big group or intimate size. I will definitely be posting a picture of the food next time, apologies but I couldn't wait :(. I really hope you try this place because I know I will definitely be coming back.

Overall: Cay Restaurant's ca nuong (roasted catfish) was mediocre, and it would have been 3 stars but the service was excellent. Food: 3 As an appetizer, they served free banh trang muoi (rice paper with salt and chili). It was fairly spicy. Ca Nuong: This was average to slightly below average in comparison to other ca nuong. Roasted catfish always comes with a plate of veggies and rice paper to make spring rolls. Most places also include bun (rice noodles) but that is not included in this meal. The vegetables were a little wilted and soft, and there wasn't many pickled carrots and daikon. The fish had crispy skin but it wasn't so overcooked that it was hard. The flesh wasn't very firm, but that's more of a problem with the fish itself than the restaurant. They were having a sale for Thanksgiving and the small catfish was $30 instead of $40. They also served free che for dessert. It was a mixture of fruits in coconut milk. Service: 5 The servers were very patient with all of our requests and fairly attentive. Ambiance: 4 The restaurant is spacious and has plenty of seating. It is fairly clean and well lit, but maybe they should keep the front door closed so temperature is better regulated. Parking can sometimes be difficult in this plaza if it's busy, but we were able to get parking right in front of the restaurant.

- The service was decent and they did refill waters often. I asked them to implement the 10% yelp check-in discount at the beginning, when placing the order and when we went to check the bill, it wasn't there. - The plaza is definitely a little sketchy at night, with a couple homeless people milling around. - restaurant decor: REALLY confusing... the restaurant seems to lean elegant with their chairs and furnishings... but then there are multiple GINORMOUS TVs... I mean HUGE all around. Is this a bar scene or a nicer place to go? - food was not too bad; my party got Bo Luc Lac in both fries and noodle form and I feel like the fries were less carbs
